On the morning of his burial, October 7, 2023, exactly two months after his last birthday, this image came to me. There were two gravediggers, their faces fixed and focused on the task of lowering my father’s physical body, heavy with its surrounding wooden casket, into the Earth, as his loved ones gathered round the perimeter, concentrated in their collective effort to simultaneously lift and encourage his spirit to float upwards toward all of those angels singing his name.
